Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) Training for the Cannabis Industry

April 30 - May 1, 2019 at the Deibel Lincolnwood, IL Lab

Located at 7120 N Ridgeway Ave, Lincolnwood, IL 60712   847-329-9900

Manufacturers of cannabis products need a program tailored to the cannabis industry that helps assure the safety of cannabis products with respect to known hazards such as pesticides, residual solvents, microbial impurities, heavy metals and mycotoxins.  Deibel Cannabis Laboratories has developed a course that that will teach those manufacturing cannabis products how to manage known product safety hazards using a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) system.

The course is accredited by the International HACCP Alliance which assures that a standardized and internationally recognized training curriculum is provided by accredited instructors.

HACCP programs have a long history of use in the food industry as prevention based systems that keep potential hazards from occurring rather than reacting to issues when they arise.  Deibel Cannabis Laboratories applies the same preventive approach to the creation of safe and wholesome cannabis goods whether they be edible, medicinal or topical.  The course also explores ways cultivators can use HACCP principles in their operation.

Deibel Labs was founded by Dr. Robert Deibel in the 1970’s.  Dr. Deibel is one of the original pioneers of HACCP development and training.  Deibel Labs is proud to continue in our historic role as leaders in HACCP training by providing the cannabis industry with a training course developed by Deibel Labs associates who are International HACCP Alliance accredited lead instructors with years of experience in crafting and implementing HACCP plans for the food industry.

The course is forward-thinking, anticipating that sometime in the near future cannabis manufacturers will be required to control and document the safe production, handling and preparation of products according to state or even federal regulatory standards.  Participants will develop their own model HACCP program in an interactive group learning environment.

ABOUT THE COURSE

·          The HACCP class is a two-day interactive program that includes a HACCP Training Manual and a certificate training record with the HACCP Alliance seal.

·          Participants will gain an understanding of HACCP systems and how they are used to manage and control hazards encountered in cannabis product manufacturing facilities.

·             Attendees will learn about HACCP Pre-requisite programs including GMPs, Pest Control and Sanitation and how they are used to prevent product safety hazards.

·          Discussions will include how to perform a hazard analysis, implement and verify hazard  control programs, conduct process validations, and prepare for HACCP plan audits.

·             Attendees will develop their own model HACCP plan in break-out sessions.
